even the poorer among us live like royalty compared to ages past and some places far away. We live longer than we ever have in the long span of history and we're better fed. We have material comforts the emperors of Rome or the pharohs of Egypt could not even have dreamt of. we have very nearly the finest diving on the planet only a couple hours out of the harbor and the freedom to hunt, photograph or just swim upside down and backwards. We have a government that while imperfect, is still accessible to most of us and still struggles to do the right thing (so long as we keep kicking it in the rear).
