**At the depth of the PADI/NAUI manuals, there's no reason it can't be done as an online course. It's pretty watered down. But I could see operators rejecting this Israeli agency (who is it under), or doing a little query of their own. Since I believe in divers taking care of themselves, the operators can let the divers decide themselves if it is sufficent.**

No. It should'nt be done as an online course. IMO, because people aren't going to put any effort into it. They're not going to be able to analyze a mix sitting on their butt at the computer. How do they plan and carry out their, say, 2 cert dives? How do they ask questions about something they don't understand? I think the interested student needs to get their hands on the equipment. This interactive bullshit can go too far.

** It is a good reason to take it from someone that actually knows the subject, preferably someone that was diving it before it became the latest cert fad.**

Latest cert fad? Its not a fad, its a natural progression in safe diving. Eventually, no one will dive "air" It does'nt make any sense when you can get nitrox.

**BTW, who knocks the LAC cert? There's one way to show ignorance**

That L.A. County cert should be renamed. L.A. County provides absolutely nothing to NAUI and if they did you might still have the kind of course that existed in 1964.
