We were diving at Point Dume and yes We got a couple of bugs..... I think that the legals are pretty much all in peoples freezers now cause
it's gotten to be slim pickens. There is still a very healthy bug population at Point Dume but it seems to be all shorts now. One reason that we dive there is that you can find visibility there when everywhere else sucks. On the other hand we are free diving which means that we only have a handfull of equipment to drag down the hill. If you go with scuba you really need to enter the cove with a boat. We have seen some good halibut on our last few night dives there. I think that maybe they come up out of the deep canyon at night to sleep (???).. Anyway it's a great dive site with lots of sharks and giant batrays which will sometimes scare the crap out of you when you are focusing on lobster and a big o boy swims out of the darkness just under you... But that is the adventure that keeps us going out!! Good luck Tommy
