Another way is to raise the head up & get the mouthpiece higher than the reg & pull down on the exhaust hose, letting the water make it to the duckbill. That's the method I use most often.
The barrel roll method is good for when you have a flooded hose & not 'nuff wind left to puff it out. Hose flooding is caused by a too lax of a grip with the lips.
I've got 3 late model diveable Snark IIIs,(have HP port) and my original that I purchased from Sears & Roebuck in the mid '60's.
