From a versatility stand point I'm thinking now that the 36# has the edge (especially since it apparently doesn't have a whole lot more drag than the 27#). I'll probably go with that and save my pennies and get the 18# later for warm water diving. Decisions, decisions. Thanks to everyone for your well thought out opinions.
