These DIR demos and free classes represent the best that this diving community has to offer - FREE continuing education to help make divers safer. No money exchanges hands and no membership fees are demanded. MHK, JW, Terry, et al., are donating their time and resources because of what they believe in. If you don't agree with them, that's fine. If they're advertising to recruit paying students, you have a case. But you try and make their efforts to provide free education sound like some sort of evil pyramid scheme - one that you need to save us from.
Your comparison to a PADI class is completely off the mark. If you must make comparisons, how about comparing them to the Sandeaters, South Coast Divers and GLACD beach diving get togethers - three very fine clubs who help newer divers beef up their beach diving skills? Or are you planning to limit their posts as SPAM too?
