I have to side with you Bob. I think that the DFG officer should have let you remeasure your bug and show you how that you errored in your measurement (if you did error). You would think that educating the public should be a goal of the DFG. Ofcourse we want them enforcing the law, but sometimes they can be seen as "meter maids" out looking to fill a quota rather than being a servant of the people. If you were a 1/16 of an inch off and it was because you started your gage too far forward, then at least you would know and be a more responsible hunter in the future.
