Nobody I know "dives" in pools and plays with their weighting in a pool environment. We dive in the ocean. And we never care about the relationship between how we are weighted in a pool versus how we are weighted when we dive.
I stand by my opinion of beach diving being a better way to dive. Reg in when you hit the breakers or dive under. Scoot along the bottom under the breaking waves till you are past the surf zone. Be weighted for a safe and simple return up the slope to the beach.
