I was able to get some cheap rooms at the Hermosa Hotel 310-510-1010. The rooms are under my name reservation number 35164.
They had two rooms that were like suites [ I'm being generous since it's Catalina Island ;-)], but each room can hold up to 6 people so you'll need to work out the spilt of the rooms. Andrew G and Sonya will be in a separate room..
Given that we can squeeze so many into the rooms the cost will be significantly reduced. It will come out to $40 per head and we'll collect on the island..
As some may have heard I got called out of town and will not be able to make the weekend, but I'm confident that Andrew G and Walker will take good care of you guys.. Sorry I couldn't make it because I was really looking forward to this class since it's full of local divers, but it couldn't be helped..
I'll leave at 6:00am tomorrow morning so I'll be a little out of pocket but to summarize where we are:
Friday evening class will be pool and lecture at Scuba Toys [ so bring your gear] and it will start at 7:00 promptly..
Early Saturday morning 6:00 am, from San Pedro most will depart [ some may leave from Long Beach] but the idea is that Andrew is on the 6:00 am boat. Reservation number at Cat. Express is R6010942.. The hotel on the island is a $6 cab ride and while check in isn't until 1:00 she said we could drop off gear if you need to in the check in storage and then go to Casino Point...
The return is the Sunday evening 6:45 boat and it's under the same reservation number.. Any questions I'll be home tonight so call me if you need me ..
