Typical DIR/GUE/WKPP whatever the hell it is called today 'teams' work the 'newbies' in within teams of three or more but generally three which gives you 2 to 1 ratio on buddy assistance plus more gas than you can shake a stick at. Plus from the early stages rescue is taught and not just body recoveries, but actual one man and two man rescue scenarios. So its not either or with a new vs old buddy/diver.
