What I here is excuses for bad diving technique. Diving is a team sport, even for hunters. Diving alone takes always the chance of help if something happens. And things do happen.
If we look at last years-diving accidents you can find at lest three very experience divers would be alive today if they dove with a buddy.
The ocean has no mercy, even for the most experienced. Taking alway redundancy in your diving system is not what you want to do in this hazardous environment.
