Wow, some common sense on this BBS! Although better than 90% of my dives in the past three years have been with a buddy, I have made more than my fair share of solo dives. I've been on the oil rigs with 30+ divers around me, but not as a team. I have also taken my boat to Catalina for at least 25 dives by myself. I enjoy the solitude and silence when I don't have to worry about where my buddy is or how much air he/she has. Don't get me wrong. I love diving with a buddy and sharing the experience of a deep wreck or unusual marine life encounter, but on days when the conditions are good and I'm underwater alone, it is as relaxing as it gets.
