I haven't been to impressed with the $100-$300 range cameras. The MX-10, however, can produce some great shots with little effort. I've used one on several trips a couple years ago (borrowed from Liburdi's Scuba in Irvine) and had some good beginnner results. MMII-EX is also a great camera, gives you more creative control (Shutter speed, aperature and focal length are all manual,) but takes a little more practice to use. You might want to look at the new digital cameras. The Light & Motion Tetra housing w/Olympus 3040 is great, but is a little pricey (you'd probably be in for about $1500 with housing and camera - $200 more for 4megapixel version) There is also a new SeaLife ReefMaster Digital 1-megapixel camera selling for about $500. Probably produces better output then it's film-fed brother.

Some pics using the MX-10 in Cozumel (first time with camera - http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/oc_bob/lst?.dir=/Diving+Pics/Cozumel+Pictures/UnderWater&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/oc_bob/lst%3f.dir=/Diving%2bPics/Cozumel%2bPictures%26.src=bc%26.view=l

Some pics taken using still mode (1 megapixel) of my Video Camera..
