I noticed that you did not mention the Commercial Fishing people much. Did they not make an appearance at this meeting?
I believe that when the Marine Protection Act was being voted on I was for it, but it was my understanding that this was to keep the guys with the big nets away. It's the people that make their living by gobbling up the planets natural resources that really get on my nerves. It seems like that we could stop there rape of the seas and forests we'd all be better off.
Since it doesn't seem like the recreational fishing and diving communities are to blame for the sad condition of the local seas, perhaps you are correct in saying that we should be joining forces to battle the people who are really to blame for the destruction.
The average Joe that buys fish in the supermarket, or restaraunt really has no idea of what's going on, so it should be up to us to lead the way.
