But I'm just a rec diver schlump who happens to have spent a few hours in a metal cylinder once and who's tried to get a little bit educated. If you want to ask a real hyperbaric doctor, that "quite a bit of debate" line was paraphrased from a post sometime back by Dr. Deco over on Scubaboard at:
