My comment about dragging on the reef wasn't referring to the DIR method of attaching the spg. It was meant for people who let the damn console hang without any method of attachment. This method that an old timer clued my in on really works well for me. No clipping, unclipping, no snapbolt nothing it is so simple. The gauge is tucked in under where some carry the backup light. Less chance to snag things also. Try it you'll like it.
