A virus isn't going to wipe out the copy on CD.
Besides, most people don't believe a virus could
hit them.
When you can take 500 pictures at 20 megapixels
without opening the housing (and consequent risk
of leaks) digital starts to get real interesting.
Want a slide? A 16 megapixel film recorder would
be indistinguishable from an original.
I'd go digital if it were as good as film. It
isn't. Yet.
BTW, the vast majority of the pictures you see
coming from Afghanistan this month were shot
digital. By pros. The news pros have jumped
all over digital because of the quick turnaround.
They don't need the resolution.
