A couple of years ago i was swimming at San Clemente island when a big dive boat pulled up and anchored just a couple hunderd yards away. A little while later while swimming in the kelp, i see this diver with a huge speargun. He had come ALL THE WAY OVER TO WHERE I WAS to do his spearing and i was livid! I immediately swam back to my boat and left the area. Now that i find out that those accidents actually do happen, i will not hesitate to let the diver and the skipper have a piece of my mind if that type of thing ever happens again. As a matter of public safety spearfishermen should make every effort to STAY AWAY from others in the water.

(in my opinion)
