Yoke is one way of attaching a reg to a tank. The
Brits call it "A-clamp" which is a better
description. It's the most common way. Will
blow the o-ring out if you remove it without ALL
the pressure released. Good to 3000 or 3300 PSI
depending on maker.

DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm (sp) (German
Industrial Standard, roughly), is the other way.
Male threads on the reg screw into female threads
on the tank. Most think it's more secure. Very
rarely blows an o-ring as you remove the reg.
Good to 300 bar (about 4000 PSI). There are 200
bar and 300 bar variants. 200 bar reg will only
attach to 200 bar tank. 300 bar reg will attach
to either. However, I've never seen a 200 bar
reg. More compact than yoke. More cool too ;-)

Most regs can be converted back and forth in a
couple of minutes. My regs are DIN, as are the
tanks I use, and I'll convert them back to yoke
for tropical dive trips. There are also adapters
to allow DIN regs to attach to yoke tanks, but
I don't bother.
