Things were a bit hectic -- we got back up here Sunday
night, and things were real busy at work after having been
gone two and a half weeks. Here's more.
First Dive: Gunsight Reef. Vis maybe 50', 54F, no surge, no
current. Linda got a way cool lobster (legal size) picture
on this one. I got some nice brittle star pictures. Tons
of brittle stars.
Second Dive: Goldfish Bowl. 40', 54F, no surge, no current.
Third Dive: Anacapa West End. 40' dropping to 25' at the
end, 54F, a touch of surge, no current. I got some nice
Simnia pictures.
Fourth Dive: Portuguese Rock. 30', 54F, no surge, no
current. Linda had fun with seals.
Net: Less fish, less color than Monterey/Carmel. Lot's
more hunters (maybe why less fish). Too many urchins (no,
I didn't get stuck) -- you need some otters to eat them.
More scallops and boy are they dumb. In NorCal they close
up if you get anywhere near them. The Garibaldi sure were
spooky.
Admiral Linda likes her new Argon bottle, and got four
dives out of it, which surprised me. I need to do a bit
more work on it's attachment.
The Peace is a nice boat.
Boat rides are cheaper per dive down south. I guess it's
all the competition.
