We've pillaged the same spot by kayak, Bayliner and Great Escape (sorry Tim >:) repeatedly within the space of a few weeks and they do seem to show up in some areas fairly quickly and i've seen them over the sand, far from any shelter looking as if they were on the move. There's that lobster hunting book that recently came out that may have some info on this but i've yet to read it.
