Both Maddiver & Brian hit the important things; it's very important to keep the zip clean & well rinsed. Stressing the crap out of them doesn't help either.
Switch to a HD (Heavy Duty, commercial drysuit grade) zipper & pay attention to keeping it rinsed & clean. Hit it with a toothbrush every other dive.
