There has to be a more intelligent way to consume, utilize and conserve the ocean resources and finding a workable solution that everyone can live may be a monumental task. Any plan they come up with will need to show results quickly and stand up to brutal scrutiny amung all parties involved. But we must do something that to help turn the tide or at least slow the decline on the diminishing fish population and/or species extinction. Finding a solution to this problem should be an imperative goal of the DFG, after all this is their job isn't it? Any solution that will have impact on those that sustain their livelyhood from fishing will not be easy and if the sport fishing take is only 6% you have a good point.
