I wonder if there are historical data records anywhere that illustrate that. It is a great point! The F&G regs require "permits" for "multiday" fishing trips. I guess that they don't require locational information from the day boats. Maybe they should ask the sportfishermen for that kind of information. It seems like it would be a wise and reasonable thing to start asking for to assist in the information gathering process. Maybe dive boats should provide data as to where they frequent too. If F&G isn't asking those kinds of questions, I wonder why? It would decrease "economic impact" on the scientists by helping them have pleanty to do. Once again, maybe they already do this and I just don't know about it.
