It sounds like he was in more danger than you.
Why do I get the feeling that, when your keys caught, you were in that
state an experienced diver gets in where they know that they are safe
for the moment and in control, but that panic is somewhere nearby?
Anyway, aside from the downsides, it sounds like you had some beautiful,
exotic diving. I'm glad nothing went worse than it did.
