Regardless of how you feel about PADI, we need to remember that when you post something on the Internet is acheives potential WORLDWIDE distribution. It's not quite the same as ranting and raving to a buddy over a beer or even to the assembled mutlitude at a local dive club.

I, for one (and I've stated this on this BBS before), am all for holding anyone's feet to the fire when they make statements they can't back up or when they flat-out lie, especially when those statements resemble slander.

If statements like the ones alleged to have been made on Diverlink, along with countless similar staements not just about PADI but also others that are made every days on BBSes, had been made in TIME Magazine, no one would question for a second about a slander/defamation-of-character suit being filed.

Just because it's the Internet , it doesn't excuse chacter assassination or deliberate mis-statements.
