Yes, but we really don't have a pool available. Oddly, there just
aren't as many available in SD.
We put Joe in swim lessons last year (3 1/4), but he wasn't entirely
ready. Also, they insisted in teaching them to swim a breast stroke.
I have to think that dog paddling is the first thing to learn. They
will both be swimming this summer.
Letting the kids go swimming has got to be the best way for parents
to discourage the kids from inducing parental insanity. We have
something for this summer.
Hey, truth is, I think it's good for kids to have some fear of the
water or at least a very healthy respect. My kids showed no fear of
the ocean last weekend, but if they got knocked over by a wave, they
would most likely need a rescue. I'm not positive you remember the
ocean as a little kid. I do. I was a good swimmer young, but the ocean
could still get me until I was a bit older... Then it was my favorite
challenge.
I think the beaches here in SD are more hazardous than the ones in
LA.
Enjoy the swimming, seahunt
