Sandeaters, a beach dive scheduling group, http://www.sandeaters.org/ Their members are pretty good about sending out information after a dive on vis. You sign up for their e-mail list and when a diver reports back you would get the info. In addition to a weekly dive scheduled for every Sunday at various sites, people send out diving invations during the week to beach dive. Example, I sent out an invation for Friday or Saturday to dive Leo Carrillo in Malibu. I sent out an invite last week to dive on Wednesday at Laguna Seal Rock.

You can also call Los Angeles Lifeguard (310)372-2166 Beach water quality 800-525-5662
Laguna Water and Surf Conditions (949) 494-6573
Newport Water and Surf Conditions (949) 673-3371
San Diego Beach and Water Report (619) 221-8824 . The Orange County Register also reports on dive conditions in the paper and online. This is also accessible from the sandeaters website.
