In the 70's I used to see a lot of them in the Malaga Cove / RAT Beach area (typically 3 footers). Now I do not see them too often anywhere around PV.

Last summer the family was playing at RAT Beach and 2 of my daughters were on the kayak playing at the edge of M.C. when a 6 footer went next to the yak a few times. This happened when they were trying to play king of the kayak. It shook them up to see a big shark swimming next to them while they were almost falling into the water. I did not see the shark, but assume it was a leopard. The kids were upset and came back. My wife took over the yak and I paddled back to look for the shark. The kids thought we were crazy to want to see a shark, but neither my wife or I had seen a shark that big around P.V. for a long time and really wanted to see it. We grabbed our masks and set off. Never found the shark, but it was a fun paddle.
