On Saturday I went on the Great Escape to San Clemente. Slept through Captain Tim announcing the name of the first dive site, but it didn't matter - it was amazing. Best diving I've ever done in SoCal. Vis was in the 80'+ range. I was on 32% nitrox and dropped down to 100' for about 30 minutes, and the light levels were what I'm used to for a 30' dive. Just fantastic. I could see the boat from the bottom! Shorts everywhere, and I saw some fish I usually don't see - a large treefish, a bizzare tiny green nudibranch, etc. Great dive. Second and third dives were in some nice, healthy kelp. Vis was good, 60' or so, and the water was a balmy 54 or so on the bottom. Overall a great trip. Check out the pictures at:
