I do quite a bit of breath-hold diving, and I often find myself practicing while commuting (why waste a good 1/2 hr each way?).
I had to tone it down after I nearly passed out once. And after last year's little aerobatic driving maneuver, I really can't afford another accident ;-)

Just imagine a CHP officer pulling over an apnea driver...
CHP: License and registration please. Do you know how fast you were going?
apnea: Mmmm. Mmmhhmm mmhhmm.
CHP: Excuse me?
apnea: Mmmmhmmhmm.
CHP: Sir, have you been drinking?
apnea: nnhnnh.
CHP: Sir, please step *out* of the vehicle.
apnea: pant, pant, pant, I pant, was, pant, doing pant, pant, apnea, pant, pant.
CHP: Sir, do you have any more apnea in the vehicle? I am advising you that certain controlled substances are illegal in this state, and on your admission of possessing apnea I'm going to search your vehicle.
apnea: pant, pant, No, pant, it isn't pant...
(apnea passes out from hyperventilation. awakens in cell)...
apnea: @#$^!, I knew I should have used tanks
