For beach dives, I too prefer Al 63 tanks. Less cumbersome. Unfortunately I live in the Ventura area, thus it's quite a ways to San Diego, otherwise, I would have liked to work something out regarding your tank, as I'm looking for an AL63.
On a side note, if you hunt for bugs, and want to get to some 'long walk to get to' locations, nothing beats an AL30. It's MUCH smaller, thinner, and lighter than an AL63 or AL80. If you dive shallow, and are not an air hog, it IS truly a pleasure to dive with! (the comfort of free diving, with the ability to breath under water!).
