13 year old daughter and I went on a fun 25 mile bike ride this morning that included a trip from Torrance Beach to Dive & Surf. WHile on the bike path we saw at least 5 OW classes doing briefings.
The waves were totally non-existant. All I could think was how lucky these students were to get comfy in the water before they find out what beach diving is really all about. :-) I asked a threesome coming up the sand about the conditions. They had only been to 40 FSW (it was an instructor, DM, and one student). They described it as PEA SOUP. So even though there was no wave action or surge, the green stuff was in full bloom. I am glad that I was on my bike instead of on a regulator.
