A News Flash From: The On-Top Diver News Group
New PLDI (Put Lots of Dollars IN) solo program
Pldi announced today it’s new solo diving specialty program. This program, is like all other PLDI’s courses. It can be done at your computer workstation ( using PLDI virtual diving DVD and CD’s ). This DVD and CD set lets you experience the thrill of floating weight- less, see the creatures that were once at our diving areas, take deep diving, wreck diving specialty programs all in your clear blue computer monitor screen.
PLDI marketing/training department have come to the conclusion that the buddy team is no longer a necessary part of diving. Or for that matter any OW experiences. PLDI is ready to free the bonds of the buddy system and retrain each and every one of you how to dive solo. PLDI solo dive course has 3 lectures on CD and 6 virtual dives on DVD.
For only a $1000 (included are all the things you need to become a solo diver: text book, CD, DVD, special solo log book, solo dive calculator, solo dive tables, special solo diver laminated check list, Pldi pen and patch) there is a $100 fee for the PIC envelope.
Market analysis:
The buddy team approach has been one of the corner stones of Scuba Diving since it’s founding (divers
Feeling that a they needed a redundant system to go into a hazardous environment). PLDI feels that by breaking up the buddy team, they can retrain almost every certified diver.
In a bold move PLDI has allied itself with the HOME SELLING Network. HSP will be selling PLDI certifications in their broadcast. HSP will also be selling mask, fins, boots, and snorkel (with the PLDI logo) for PLDI virtual home training courses.
PLDI virtual dive courses a success: Since taking the middle person (the dive instructor) out of the certification process PLDI has seen a 20% increase in revenue. A PLDI spokesman said: “People don’t want to get wet when they learn to dive, they want to learn in the comfort of there own home. PLDI is filling this need. If someone wants to get wet when they train, they need to go somewhere else.”
Covering ALL their bases, PLDI has formed a special relationship with Forest lawn. Forest lawn is paying PLDI a finders fee for registering each of their new solo diving students with them (PLDI has had this relationship with Forest Lawn with all of their programs).
