FLYING DUTCHMAN UPDATE
(Updated & posted as of 4/12/02 10:50AM - last posted 4/12/02 10:50AM)
Those of you who would like to participate in Chamber Day, Wednesday, May 1, but
either (1) don't live in the area, (2) don't dive, or (3) actually have to WORK that day, now
have an added option - The Flying Dutchman.
As you probably know, the Flying Dutchman is a mythical boat that sails the oceans for eternity
without ever coming into port. So what better choice for those who can't dive than a boat
that doesn't really exist? Those who sign up for the Flying Dutchman will receive raffle
tickets like everyone else, will be entered in a Flying-Dutchman-only “on-board” raffle,
and will receive a special limited-edition Chamber Day t-shirt that says “Flying
Dutchman Crew - Chamber Day 2002,” available only to those who sign up for this boat.
(To see the Flying Dutchman logo, go to: http://www.chamberday.org/ghostship.jpg).
If you'd like to be on the Flying Dutchman ($75 - just like the real boats), it's easy to do.
You can sign up on the web at "www.chamberday.org" . . . OR . . . you can mail a check
to: Chamber Day, 8612 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211 (make it payable to
either Reef Seekers or Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber and write "Flying Dutchman" on the
memo line) . . . OR . . . you can call us at 310/652-4990 and do it all over the phone. (All
donations are tax-deductible as the Chamber is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization FIC
95-1642394, CGEC ONAF5.)
