What we need here in So Cal is an attractant! How ironic that in this day and age, technology collides with the destiny of the shark.
In the early 80's, every (glassy) trip to Catalina would reveal the fins of many Blue sharks on the surface. They were present year around. Now i see a fin for about every 500 miles traveled. There may be a few places left that have healthy shark populations, but they do not exist in California any longer.
The blues were a nusiance for the commercial fishermen, so they anhilated them every chance they had.
Problem is, the sharks belonged to all of us...
yet we were given no say in their demise...
I yearn for the return of sharks in OUR waters!
