Probably your best place to start would be at www.californiadiveboats.com. Look for a boat leaving from where you will be and check the schedule for where it is going when you will be there.
Really, if you are non-local, you may be better off catching a boat from Avalon on Catalina. The trips are shorter and the diving is both casual and excellent.
