Why are you giving? Are you giving so that you can see your name in type? Are you giving so that your company can get a little PR? Or are you giving from your heart (for the good of the community).
Chamber Day should be something the whole So. Cal. Diving community can get behind. But instead of working together we seem to be pulling apart.
Who cares what is said behind some ones pledge. The real question is why aren’t all the boats filled up? Why aren’t there more boats, Dive clubs, and shops involved (there are some very large dive clubs that don’t have a table or a boat, there are some big dive stores and big sporting goods stores that do nothing or only pay lip service to chamber day).
Ken and Bill are doing a pretty good job with chamber day/night. Do you remember what it was like before they took over the job (I do, do you remember what the donations were then).
There are always going to have problems with an enterprise like this. But you need to look passed those problems for the greater good.
