Hey 100001, there are lots of good stories about Brother Brett. I think the more you find out the about him the less you will have to do with him.
No mask is not a big deal. In my cave class we did no mask, out of air long hose breathing, on the line, drills from about 500 ft. in and then came all the way out(that was a NACD class). This is stuff an entry level student should be able to do.
