What a wild and wonderful ride it was this year.
I'm so pleased to tell you that the Jon Hardy Chamber Challenge cracked $22,000 in the final days of Chamber Day/Eve 2002. We have many people to thank for this, starting with the Kissick Family Foundation (also major donors to the Aquarium of the Pacific) with a very generous $1000 donation that was co-ordinated by John Corso from Scuba Haus, $776 from the International Diving Society who has decided to disband and wanted the remaining funds in their treasury to go to a good cause, $500 from Phillips 76, along with the other you see listed below.
Perhaps the most interesting "donation" was the $90 that Gordy Boivin from Laguna Sea Sports found on the floor at Chamber Evening. Rather than announcing, "Did anyone lose $90 in cash????" and seeing 300 hands go up to claim it (and also since no one came up to us to ask if any lose cash had been found), we decided this would be lumped in with the Challenge money.
Anyhow, many thanks to all who contributed. To those that didn't, there's still time to add your name (call 310/652-4990 or go to "www.chamberday.org") to the list before we put out our final, audited numbers. So . . . ANY STAGGLERS?????
