Fellow divers,
Never forget that PADI is a FOR PROFIT business. PADI is owned by a few people and operate in a manner to MAXIMIZE PROFITS.
PADI makes money by getting a piece of every PADI course that every diver takes. That is why there are so many specialty courses.
I am not aagainst profits, but to say that PADI cares about the industry is wrong. They lead or more appropriatly said are more visible in the diving industry because PADI needs new divers in the industry in order to get their registration money. PADI's only duty and goal is to keep their costs down, maximize stakeholder equity, and establish a continuing revenue stream.
