Since you are saying that "The dive tables are dinosaur bones" and "In the real world, everybody is either using a dive computer ... or decompression software...", and professing expertise in typical diving situations, I wonder if you would tell us a bit about yourself. Things like your experience observing and/or supervising divers, as well as your years of diving, number of dives, certifications and dates. If I am to believe your assertions about how most folks dive, I would like to judge your credibility.
