With all the scintillating insight coming out of the recent discussion about the PADI RDP, I thought some might be interested in a two day seminar entitled Advanced Decompression Physiology hosted by the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber and featuring Dr. Michael R. Powell, aka Dr. Deco, aka NASA's guy on decompression research and one of the designers of the RDP. Dr. Powell's list of published scholarly articles is as long as my arm and is he is cited so many times in Bennett & Elliott you'd have thought he wrote the thing.

This seminar really has nothing in particular to do with the RDP, but it has everything to do with deco theory, Doppler studies, bubble mechanics, oxygen toxicity, DCI neo-Haldanean/free phase models and other groovy stuff.

The cost is $180 per. For that you get food, room, board and educated. Transportation is extra. See the full description at wrigley.usc.edu/hyperbaric/advdeco.htm.

Not only do you get Mike Powell for two days, you get Karl Huggins thrown in for free. Space is limited but spots are still available.
