The very sad part of this is that he died.

All I have been told (by some of the boat folks at 22nd Street - we had a charter Sunday) is that he was an instructor for the Sport Chalet Irvine store. I believe they were going out on the Magician.

Apparently, he had loaded his gear on to the boat, moved his car across the street, and collapsed in the parking lot. Not sure how long he might have been down before someone found him - which means it could have been seconds or minutes, I simply don't know.

My understanding is that a couple of other DMs or Instructors performed CPR, paramedics were summoned, and he was taken to a hopsital. Not sure if they ever got a pulse back, but the information given to me was that he didn't make it.
