Check out the Northern Diver suits, they have a lot of good features, like zipper protector, extra neoprene cuffs that cover the latex (no cold wrists), and Heavy Duty zippers (commercial dive gear grade)

Also, don't let the neoprene bashing fool you; thete are several different types, and even the "full blown" neoprene suits have less buoyancy change issues than a farmer john (need less weight, too).
You may want to seriously look at the compressed & hyper compressed/crushed types of neoprene; the latter are some of the most durable suit materials out there.
