Dean, you get what you pay for. There is lots of poorly designed dive equipment out there. Here is what 32 years of diving and 27 years of teaching scuba have shown me.
Regulators –buy a Scubapro (one of the g250 series) or an Atomic. These are the best regs. On the market(an anyone who says they are not, are fooling themselves).
BC- buy a Zeagle BC (a Concept 2 Pro, or the Tech) Zeagle makes the best BC on the market ( Every BIU with a wt. system on the market today is poor copy of the Zeagle line)
Wetsuits- if you are looking for a rack suit, buy an Xcel (they are will made and very warm, and have good sizing).
Gauges- I would buy Oceanic or Uwatec. Sunto makes good computers to (but the evil empire and the discount stores sells Sunto and I can’t bring myself to buy there).
Dean if you have any question E-mail me. I would be happy to talk to you some more about this stuff.
