Weighting is one issue behind diving without a bc the other is controlling ones lungs to take the place of a bladder. This takes a lot of practice. I use to know a couple of guys that went bug hunting this way. I tried it a couple of times. It is not as easy as one might think. If you are not in good shape you deplete your air supply fast. If for some reason because of depth you were not strong enough to get buoyant then what. These guys use to carry lift bags just in case.
