By BC I mean the whole configurtion of floation device and tank adapter, and which may now include weights. Back in 1970 when I first learned to dive, the floation was seperate from the back plate, and tho it can still be found today, it is not the norm, especially for new divers. Almost (that's a qualified almost) everyone today uses an integrated unit. Sorry for the confusion.
