Hold on a second, have you ever tried diving without a BC, It's a great experience, expecially in warmer waters. Unsafe, not if you have the proper safety equipment, Mae-West.. It's extremely difficult to back-pack in cold water and almost impossible with the new suits, due to the air entrained into the fabric and yes I like my BC, but do not discount back packs just because your attached to the BC.
