OxTox is a hard thing to predict and therefore it is hard to say that Death would have certainly come at the depth/time of the dive. Fancy numbers such as 1.4 or 1.6 PPO2 have some padding built-in to account for individual susceptibility. So the answer is he probably would not have convulsed and died, but then again he probably should not have been bent, either. Maybe his C-Card number was up. Some days it is best to not dive. The trouble is in guessing which days. ;-) Mother Nature can be such bugger some days.
